Varna

Varna is the sea capital of Bulgaria. The city is vibrant, modern and spiritual. Summer is the best time of the year to visit. You will find direct flights to Varna from many European cities: London, Vienna, Milan, Amsterdam, Frankfurt. There are plenty of sights and activities.

If you are visiting Varna, the dolphinarium is a fun place to see. The dolphinarium is the entertainment attracting the largest number of visitors. It is an amphitheater with a 6 meters in diameter pool in the middle. They have scheduled daily performances with dolphins. The dolphinarium is closed on Monday.

One of Varna's landmarks is the Sea Garden. The first recreation center was opened here in 1862, but the true decorative arrangements of the park started in 1895. It is the largest park in Varna and is one of most beautiful parks on the Balkan Peninsula too. Rare vegetation species grow here. There are monuments of prominent Bulgarian National Revival figures.

Saints Constantine and Helena is the oldest Bulgarian resort on the Black Sea. The resort is located about 6 miles north-east from Varna and is named after a monastery in the vicinity built around the 16th century. They say the monastery was founded by a group of monks who sought refuge in the forest from ottoman soldiers.

Kavarna is a town and sea resort in Northeastern Bulgaria. It is famous for its clean sea water and beaches. It offers ecotourism and nature-lovers can admire the unique flora and fauna of the place. The great variety of fish, birds and plants contributes to the vast popularity of the place.

Undoubtedly one of the pearls of Bulgaria’s North coast, Balchik should definitely be one of your destinations, in case you are planning to visit the Black Sea this summer. The picturesque town of Balchik is located 23 miles from Dobrich and 29 miles from the biggest coastal town in Bulgaria- Varna.

Albena is by far one of the most beautiful Black Sea resorts in Bulgaria, it has a little something for everyone- a 3-mile long, 500-feet wide shoreline of fine white sand, washed by the crystal- clear waters of a relatively shallow bay, many places for entertainment, different restaurants and vast areas of damp green forests for walks.

Krapets is a coastal village located about 56 miles north of Varna and only a couple of miles away from the Bulgarian-Romanian border. It is a small, peaceful village with mainly one-storey houses, friendly inhabitants and beautiful nature.
