In Smolyan functions a unique facility - the Planetarium. The building has beautiful and original architecture. It is equipped with modern equipment. Uhlovitsa Cave
Uhlovitsa cave is located at 1040 m altitude, 3 km northeast of Mogilitsa, in the border zone in the western part of the Rhodope massif. Legend says the name comes from the night bird of prey - the owl (“ululitsa” in Bulgarian).

Mount Snejanka
In the heart of the Rhodopes, 260 km from Sofia and 15 km from Smolyan, lies one of the most beautiful and majestic peaks in Bulgaria – Snejanka (“Snow White” in Bulgarian). Chudnite mostove
Natural phenomenon “Chudnite mostove” ("The Wonderful bridges") is located 80 kilometers south of Plovdiv and 35 km northwest of the town of Chepelare, close to the village Zabardo. It is a huge complex of marble arches, transferred to the banks of River Dalbok dol (called Aidarsko Dere), which flows from Mount Persenk to the ancient woods below it. Chudnite mostove were declared a natural monument in 1949.

Haskovo Province
Mezek
The monumental tomb near the village Mezek was built in the sixth century BC. The construction is the so-called "dry masonry", i.e. - without mortar. Overall length of the tomb is almost 30 meters. Scientists have found that it was used repeatedly (not less than four times) and that there were buried noble representatives of the Thracian aristocracy.

Monument "Virgin Mary"
The Monument "Virgin Mary" overlooks the town of Haskovo. In 2003 a huge statue was built of the Youth hill. Set at a 17-foot pedestal, it’s 14 meters high and weighs 80 tons. In 2004 the statue was declared the highest statue of Mary from the book of Guinness Records. Virgin Mary is considered the patron of Haskovo and the statue became a symbol of the city.

The monastery "St. Athanasius" was founded in 344 by St. Athanasius the Great, Patriarch of Alexandria. Natural History Museum Kotel
Despite the famous verse "fire does not burn it", the city several times had fires due to its dense construction and houses of wood. The big fire in 1894 nearly erased it from the earth. Fire consumed homes, churches, inns, shops, schools and the community center. The archives of the municipality were burned, guilds and church boards. The people were reeling from grief and many left the city. Only a few houses survived, such as the Radil Kyorpeev’s house, which is now an ethnographic museum. But Kotel recovered from this disaster.

Historical Museum Silistra
Silistra is the successor of the ancient Roman city Durostorum founded in 29 AD. Before it in this place there was a Thracian settlement. In V century after the invasions of Goths, Huns, Avars, Slavs and Bulgarians, the city decayed. It experienced new boom during the Middle Ages under the name Drustar. After the conquest by the Turks, the city was heavily fortified. In 1877 it was liberated by Russian troops and returned to Bulgaria, but after the Second Balkan War it went into the territory of Romania. In 1940 Silistra again returned to Bulgaria. If a person wants to know more about the rich history of the city, the best place is the local history museum - one of the oldest in Bulgaria.

Srebarna Reserve
The reserve is on the main migration route of birds migrating between Europe and Africa - "Via Pontica". There are several legends about the origin of the name "Srebarna" (“srebro” in Bulgarian means “silver”). One is linked with Srebrun Khan, who died here in unequal combat with the Pechenegs. The second tells of a boat full of silver, buried somewhere on the coast. But most likely the name comes from the beauty of the lake at full moon when the water mirror looks like molten silver.

The Historical and archeological reserve "Sboryanovo" is located between the villages Malak Porovetz and Sveshtari in the canyon of Krapinetz river and on the hills around it. The first traces of life in these places are from the late Stone Age and from the beginning of the Copper Age. With the settlement of the Thracian tribes Gettae during the early Iron Age, the region of "Sboryanovo" became a political, cultural and religious center, which began to be built at the beginning of the first millennium BC (IX - VIII century) and reached the highest point of development during the Hellenistic period (IV - III century). During this period the forming the village ended. It had a city center, two mounds, necropolis and two sanctuaries.

Saeva hole
The name of the cave comes from two brothers – Sae and Seyu that was hiding in it from the Turks during the slavery. Its entrance is under the cliffs, high six and a half meters, overgrown with ferns and mosses. Saeva hole’s length is 400 meters, and temperature is between 7 to 11 degrees Celsius during all the year.

The Balchik Palace
In 1921 Queen Maria Alexandrina Victoria de Edinburgh decided to visit Balchik, intrigued by stories of her friends: Prince Szatmár and his wife Ortansa. They called the city "a green oasis". Captivated by the natural charm of the place, of the white cliffs and the serene sea, she decided to build a summer residence here, and in 1937 the palace was ready. They called it "The Quiet Nest". Fortunately, Queen Maria had a strict requirement for the builders: she demanded from them not to disturb the natural beauty and splendor of the area.

The exact name of the village is Bozhentsite. As to its creation, there are two hypotheses.
