Lufthansa changes free baggage allowance

Lufthansa changes free baggage allowance between North America and Europe.
Lufthansa will change the free baggage allowance for Economy Class tickets issued starting January 1, 2010, when traveling on Lufthansa operated flights.

An Economy Class passenger with a ticket issued on/after January 1, 2010, on Lufthansa operated flights between Europe and the U.S., Canada or Mexico, may bring one piece of checked baggage up to 23 kg (50lbs.) free of charge. This item may not exceed dimensions of 158 cm (62 inches) (total length + width + depth). An additional ski bag is also permitted free of charge. If the passenger is checking in with a second bag, a fee of €40 (or $50) will apply for the entire through-checked route. The standard excess baggage fees will apply for each additional piece of luggage or for oversized or overweight bags.


The free checked baggage allowance remains unchanged for passengers traveling on Lufthansa in First Class or Business Class as well as on other routes. HON Circle Members, Senators as well as Star Gold Card members will still be permitted to check three bags up to 23 kg (50 lbs.) and Frequent Travelers may check two bags up to 23 kg (50 lbs.) free of charge.


Lufthansa changes excess baggage fees for animal transportation within Europe. On flights within Germany and within Europe operated by Lufthansa, there will be flat fee charged for animals accompanying the passenger which are transported in the cabin or in the cargo compartment of the aircraft.

Yumruka Peak
Yumruka Peak is in the Balkan mountain range or Stara Planina, and it is part of Bulgaria’s National Park “Tsentralen Balkan” (Central Balkan). The peak itself is almost 6 000 feet high, there is a chalet nearby called “Eho” and to the west there is Vezhen peak.
