Payless

Dobrich is a town in northeastern Bulgaria, situated in the Dobrudja plane, a few hours drive from Varna. The city has never been known as a tourist center. The main sights in Dobrich are the Memorial House of Jordan Yovkov and the city’s Art Gallery.

Fund of the Art Gallery was collected over 40 years. Today it has more than 3,000 works - the collection of the works that are part of the "Golden Fund" of Bulgarian art: paintings by Ivan Markvichka Zlatyu Boyadjiev Vladimir Dimitrov - the Master, Stoyan Venev, Constantine Shtarkelov and others.

The permanent exhibition "Graphics" presents a collection of over 1,000 works and traces the development of Bulgarian graphic art from the late nineteenth century until today. Interesting is the foreign graphic collection, which includes works of famous artists from Germany, France, Slovakia and Japan. Among them distinguish the two works of Rolf Escher - "Meeting" and "Italian Theatre II", "Like mountains" from Atsuo Sakatsume and "Lady with Hat" from Albin Brunovski. The sculpture section of the gallery presents works of Bulgarian authors, made from bronze, stone, wood and plaster.

Of particular interest is the only in our country collection of works on paper from Bulgaria, but also from Moldova, Greece, Korea, Croatia, France, Spain, Switzerland, Finland, Turkey and others.

The building of the Art Gallery in Dobrich is declared an architectural monument. It was built between 1933 - 1935 and is an interesting example of European influence - it is created by Italian and Romanian architects. The building has two floors with a total area of 3960 square meters.
