Boyana Waterfall

The Boyana waterfall (Boyanski vodopad) is the biggest waterfall in Vitosha. It is 49 ft high and is located in one of the most preserved areas of Vitosha. On a clear sunny day it can be spotted from the capital’s centrum. The waterfall is most rampant in spring when the snows are thawing and at that period you can even see the water sprays from Sofia.

The waterfall is easily accessible, though not by car. The fastest way is from Kopitoto hotel and it does not take more than an hour and a half. Even if you are not big fans of walking you will be amazed by the beautiful nature. The path has enough signs and guidelines on the way so that you don’t get lost. There is a steep area where you should be cautious of the river’s slippery boulders but once this is over- you will realize that the sight was worth the efforts.
